Women's cell

St Mary’s College, Thrissur is one of the premier educational institutions for women in central Kerala .The College are very much involved in curricular and extracurricular activities. As part of its efforts that the education and development of young women the college has a women cell. It was formally started in the year 1995-96 and is inaugurated by Smt. Ramani Keeran. The cell was started with the aim of empowering women and its motto is “Empower and Enrich”. The Women cell works for the development of the students, helping them to solve personal and academic problems. The cell undertakes various programmes to create awareness among the students about current problems related to women.

Objectives of Women's Cell

• To inculcate among the young a sense of social commitment.
• To provide training for women so that they become empowered in their younger age there by making them self sustainable in the society.
• To create a feel of empathy among the youth to their fellow beings.
• To explore their innate talents and utilize them to the maximum for the betterment of the society.
