Code of Ethics
St. Mary’s College, Thrissur commends and maintains an institutional code of ethics to direct course of research through ideal and ethical demeanors to promote scholarly research outcomes. The code of ethics is applicable to all disciplines and is accordingly formulated, encompassing standard principles and practices in research methodology. The members should abide by the values of commitment, honesty, reliability and sincere pursuit for knowledge and should follow the following guidelines:
- All academic research work should provide proper acknowledgment and credit to resource sources and should be free from plagiarism
- The project/ dissertation/ assignment submitted should be a bonafide record with undertaking of the student
- Researcher should adhere to all safety practices
- The credibility of the research work and plagiarism check should be ensured by the Supervisor before certifying the work.
- The researchers should use software provided in the College library to ensure the genuineness of the submission
- The research work should serve the needs of the society in terms of equity, inclusivity sustainable development and spirt of national consciousness
- Publicize and disseminate research results to augment further research leading to patents/ products.
- Improve professional growth and become competent upholding high standards of conduct
- Avoid falsification/ fabrication and ensure fairness in practices and procedures
- Freedom of scholars to inquire into any subject with academic integrity under the supervision of the guide
- Researcher should ensure fairness in, practices and procedures
