Research Interests in MCATS

  • Cytotoxicity Studies & Disease modelling: Cultivating animal cells to mimic diseases like cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and infectious diseases, enabling the study of disease progression and therapeutic responses
  • Cellular Signalling Pathways: Investigating the intricate signalling networks within cells that regulate processes such as growth, differentiation, and apoptosis
  • Drug Screening and Development: Screening compounds for potential therapeutic effects, evaluating drug efficacy, toxicity, and pharmacokinetics using animal cell models before moving to clinical trials
  • Genetic Engineering: Manipulating animal cell genomes to study gene function, disease mechanisms, and develop gene therapy approaches for genetic disorders
