Library & Literary Club

Literary club works under the initiative of the Department of English, St. Mary’s College, Thrissur. The Club aims to find out the budding talents among the students who may become the promising writers of tomorrow. Meetings of the Literary Club were held every last Monday of each month. Students were given opportunity to exhibit their talents through reciting poems, stories and book reviews written by them. The total strength of the club is restricted to a maximum of 80 (Inclusive of I, II and III years of UG & PG). Literary Club aims to foster love for language by enhancing literary creativity and provide an avenue for self-expression beyond the regular curriculum.

Objectives

• Helping the students to connect with other likeminded people
• Expand their knowledge of literary devices
• Cultivate a passion in them for creative writing and literature
• Motivation to read
• Develop self - efficacy and confidence
• Works in tandem to benefit students in the discipline of writing
• Encourage students to think spontaneously
