‘Vigyan Maarg’ Higher Education Expo Held at St. Mary's College

St. Mary's College (Autonomous), Thrissur, in collaboration with The Office of Deputy Director of Collegiate Education, held ‘Vigyan Maarg’, a Multi-Disciplinary Higher Education Expo on Friday, 4th October 2024. The initiative offered exposure to young and aspiring students to the possibilities of higher education. Students from various schools in the district were provided a first-hand experience of various academic disciplines, which they can pursue in future. Engaging exhibitions, orientations, fairs, cultural activities and games were held. Diverse facilities like Laboratories, Library and Research Centres were kept open for the students to explore. Dr. T R Govindhankutty, former Scientist from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, inaugurated the event. In his inaugural speech, Dr Govindhankutty spoke to the students about human evolution and the complexities of the universe. He reminded the students that Science grows when new questions are posed. Principal of the College, Dr Sr Beena T L, Vice Principal Dr Sr Meena K Cheruvathur and Vigyaan Maarg coordinator Dr Sr Smitha Rose C G shared the stage. The Expo was open from 10.00 AM to 3.00 PM. The participation of around 650 students from nearby Higher Secondary Schools in the district enriched the event.
